The Alumni Association congratulates Anya Demshar and Pavel Lindrose, recipients of the RHSAA 2021 Scholarship awards. We wish both well in their future endeavors!
Anya Demshar
Anya, the daughter of Todd and Regan Binnig Demshar (RHS graduate), will continue her education at Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio. She will major in Animal Science in the Veterinary Science pre-professional program. Anya’s love of animals comes from living on a “hobby farm”, her active 4-H participation, and raising and showing livestock. Her favorite steer’s name was Amarillo.
At Riverside, in addition to taking a strong academic program, she was involved in many extracurricular activities. These activities were varied, including cheerleading for football and basketball for one season, three years as a member of the robotics team, a diver for the swim/dive team her senior year, and a 2-year member of the Lacrosse team.
Outside of school she has always been an active participant in 4-H, holding offices, participating in various programs both in Lake County and on the state level, and garnering many awards. She is also an enthusiastic scuba diver and has earned her Advanced Open Water diving certificate. Volunteering also has been a strong part of her life, not only through 4-H but individually as well. During Covid she volunteered through the farm bureau, at the Madison food center, and organized a sock collection, which provided socks for three local organizations.
Anya’s long term goal is to specialize in beef genetics and work with club calf operation (specifically bred cattle) or cow calf operation (raising herds) maximizing the potential of the herd.
Pavel Lindrose
Pavel, son of Aaron and Michelle Vaccariello Lindrose, is a multi- generational RHS alum. Not only are both his parents and older sister, Molly and all their sibling are alums, but so is his paternal grandfather as well.
Pavel will attend Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, and plans a double major in neuroscience and music performance (percussion).
As expected, he was an active, enthusiastic member of the Riverside Regiment and participated in the pit orchestra for three musicals. Pavel is also a member of various Cleveland orchestras and music groups: Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony, Contemporary Youth Orchestra, and Samba Joia. Additionally, he is a member and treasurer of National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. His accomplishments in his rigorous academic program have garnered him many academic and music awards, the AP Scholar Award, and #1 Club Award.
Out of school Pavel has traveled to Honduras on four mission trips, takes Karate classes and is active in his church. He works for several neighbors and family members and has also worked for a tree service company. A highlight of this summer is volunteering for the Lake Metro Parks Spirit of America Boating Program teaching boating as a certified instructor.
Long term, Pavel plans to enter the medical field or medical research to help others while also keeping music a vital part of his life.
