The 2023 RAA Golf Outing at PCC

The Riverside Alumni Association held its 2023 Golf Outing on June 11 at the Painesville Country Club. The outing honored Don Pomfrey, ’54 RHS graduate and association trustee for many years. The day was a bit overcast but the rain held off enough for all 10 teams to clear the course. Lunch was plenty, dinner was BBQ and good! 2023 RAA Scholarship Awards

Riverside Alumni Association scholarship recipient Jenna Leonard is the daughter of Tim and Julie Leonard. Jenna plans to continue her education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. An honor student at Riverside, she was awarded an honors diploma and was a 2-year member of the National Honor Society. Jenna has received honors awards throughout high school, each semester. The Crooked Home in Leroy

When my husband Chuck and I married in 1966, we were both highly motivated to tackle the rejuvenation of some old home and turn it into a lovely dwelling. It didn’t take long to find what we wanted: a Century Home of 103 years on Madison Avenue in Painesville Township. POW/MIA Chairs Honor Our Lost Veterans

Two chairs meant to express gratitude toward veterans who did not make it back home have been added to the Riverside Veterans Wall of Honor display.  The organizations that made the chair dedication possible are Rolling Thunder and American Legion Post 336 of Painesville. The small committee of dedicated teachers, administrators and community liaison volunteers who founded the wall in 2018 intended it to be in perpetuity and committed to expansion. Observations about how much things in our world have changed in size can turn into wonderment if a person remembers how, over a few decades, things that used to be small are now huge, whereas many other functional items have shrunk.
