At the September 2021 board meeting, the trustees elected Beth Knezevich ’81 and Mike Nelson ’85 to fill two vacant trustee seats. The board also selected officers for the rest of 2021: Bill Guyer, president; Cathy Thompson Covill, vice president; Gretchen Reed, secretary; and Doris Moss, treasurer. Two other trustees were re-elected: Gretchen Reed and Loretta Vandervort. The other trustees who continue to serve are Marijane Watson and Eric Laika.

Beth Knezevich has volunteered with the Alumni Association for several years. She attended Melridge Elementary School, Auburn Road Junior High School and graduated from Riverside in 1981. She played on the volleyball team and later coached volleyball at John R. Williams. She is active in the community having served on Riverside’s Building and Design Committee (Parkside/Riverview Elementary), Painesville Township’s Zoning Commission and Comprehensive Plan Committee. She is also a proud veteran having served as a Sergeant in the United States Army. Beth has worked as a Legal Secretary at McDonald Hopkins LLC for 21 years. She has volunteered with McDonald Hopkins’ attorneys at the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland Veteran’s Clinic and is Captain of their Velosano Bike to Cure team. In her spare time, she enjoys taking her dog Molly to the Metroparks and working on her 1967 Mustang.

Mike Nelson is a RHS 1985 graduate. He has been married for 29 years to Kim, and has two children, Arron, 28 and Marissa, 24. He currently teaches life skills to mentally handicapped adults both in Lake and Geauga counties. His interest includes political figures local and national both past and present, environmental awareness, animal welfare, community service, and acrylic painting. His fondest memory of Riverside where the friendships made many of which continue to this day.
