President’s Message for Winter 2021

Hello to All Riverside Alumni,

Wait..What? It’s January already? During these last several months I even have trouble remembering what day of the week it is. If it’s garbage day it must be Wednesday. If the Browns are on it could be Sunday or Monday. Another easy trick for me is that my birthday is always on the same day of the week as Christmas and New Year’s so I’m good on Fridays this year.

I hope all of you have been able to find good ways to pass the time and keep from going stir crazy. One of my pleasures this fall was to watch our Riverside football and volleyball teams on-line from the warmth and comfort of my front room. Both of them had fun and successful seasons.

The football team ended up at 6-2 with big wins over Perry, South and North and a playoff win at home for the first time ever over Boardman. RHS bowed out in an exciting overtime loss to Hudson, who eventually lost in the District Final to State Champ Hoban.

The volleyball team once again won the Western Reserve Conference Championship and their 4th straight District Championship beating three higher ranked seeds along the way.

Now with the new year upon us, we would like to create a new communication vehicle for you to help keep in touch with your fellow Beavers — the Beaver Bulletin Board. Each quarter we will solicit items from folks about significant events in their lives: births, deaths, marriages, awards, new careers, promotions, publications, advanced degrees obtained, etc.  You may submit something about yourself or other alumni who may be too shy to toot their own horns. We of course will maintain editorial control.

Below you will find two links, one for general updates and one for memorials to those we have lost. The deadline for submission of info would be 15 days before the end of the quarter – so this year March 15, June 15, October 15, December 15 — in order to be included in the next Online Log.

We hope you will find this a fun and informative way to keep in contact with the rest of the Riverside world.

Finally, by our next quarterly update we hope to have found that the vaccine has proven to be effective and that we can start to get back to whatever normal will be in 2021.

Best regards,

Tom Trombley
