Riverside High School is about to graduate the class of 2017. A class of 302 new alumni. We are also celebrating the 65th anniversary of the first class of 54 graduates from 1952. Some of whom are still living in the district. The class of 1952 is celebrating jointly with the Harvey High School class of 1952. When the Riverside district was started the students were moved from the Harvey High district so many of the class mates found themselves in different schools.

To date we still share a camaraderie with Harvey thru the alumni associations’ joint fund raiser. The 16th annual “GRAND RIV-HAR DUCK RACE” is again taking shape and we will soon be selling tickets. This event is a major scholarship fund raiser for both schools Alumni Associations. The proceeds from the sale of tickets is divided equally between the two schools Alumni Associations to be used for scholarships and to support other events. The Riverside Alumni Association has granted 37 scholarships. In 2004 we gave one scholarship for $750.00 and in 2005 we gave one for $1000.00. Since then we have granted 3- $1000.00 scholarships each year.
Each year we have increased our ticket sales and hope to do the same this year. The tickets are $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. They will be available from both Riverside and Harvey alumni members and at the Party in the Park in Painesville. The first prize is $500 and many additional prizes will be given to random ducks at the race. The Duck Race is held on the Saturday after the Riverside Harvey Football game at Lake Metro Parks Helen Hazen Wyman Park at around 11:00 am. All are welcome to come and watch and help with the ceremonial duck wipe after the race.
Hope to see you there!!
